Rebuild Napier: Imagine the City of Tomorrow
ART DECO TRUST EVENT
Sponsored by Conroy Removals
What if you could rebuild Napier your way? Head to the foyer of the Napier Municipal Theatre during the Festival and help create a giant cardboard version of Napier CBD — inspired by the city before and after the devastating 1931 earthquake. Working together, families can use cardboard boxes and their imaginations to design and build streets, buildings, shops and landmarks. Will you recreate the Napier we know today, or dream up a completely new city? Explore how the earthquake changed Napier and then put your own stamp on the future. Build big, get creative and see what happens when the whole family works together to reimagine our city. Come along for five minutes or stay and build for an hour — every box can become part of Napier’s next chapter!
