Explore Mataruahou, Napier’s historic hill, on a guided 90-minute hike through the old Napier Cemetery, Botanical Gardens and Hospital Hill. Discover stories of early settlers, the 65th Regiment, the former hospital and the changing landscape, with historic photographs and panoramic views along the way. This walk includes some steep streets, stairs and uneven surfaces. Napier is hot in February, so hiking shoes, sunscreen and a broad-brimmed hat are essential. Please also remember to bring a water bottle.
