Oscar-nominated Carefree (1938) reunites Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire in a musical screwball comedy with music by Irving Berlin. Centering on a love-struck psychiatrist (Astaire) and his indecisive patient (Rogers), Carefree is perhaps the famous duo’s funniest movie. Musical highlights include a dashingly dressed Astaire hitting golf balls while dancing, romantic ‘I Used to Be Color Blind’ ending in a rather long kiss (a rarity in a Ginger & Fred movie), and goofy – but iconic – dance ‘The Yam’. Tickets include a sweet treat.
